He is now running for the Pennsylvania State Senate to replace Senator Jim Rhoades, who as killed in a tragic car accident.
Representative Argall has been a leader in advocating for lower taxes and a more efficient government. In Schuylkill County, Representative Argall has helped create over 11,000 new jobs and cut the unemployment rate in half during his time in office.
Representative Argall’s efforts in helping to create the state’s "Main Street" job creation/revitalization program and "Elm Street" neighborhood improvement effort have brought several million dollars in additional state funding to a number of communities in the 29th district.
Dave has authored a bill that would completely eliminate the school property tax system and give voters the opportunity to vote on the replacement at the ballot. He worked to secure more than $2 million in state funding to create the Lehigh Carbon Community College Morgan Center right here in Tamaqua. Thanks to these efforts, students from the area receive significantly reduced tuition. Many of them pay no tuition at all while receiving an advanced degree from the community college. Representative Argall has been a consistent supporter of public education, voting to increase funding of public education to record levels during his time in the general assembly.

Argall is the prime sponsor of the Waste Tire Recycling and Small Business and Household Pollution Prevention Act of 1996, which has led to the clean-up of approximately 24 million tires from waste piles across the Commonwealth. An active member of his community, Rep. Argall is an Eagle Scout and a leader of his son's Scout Troop.
In 2004 and 2006, he was elected by his colleagues to serve as the Republican Whip. As the second-ranking leader in the Republican caucus, his responsibilities include assembling voting majorities during debates on the floor of the House of Representatives.
In past sessions, Rep. Argall served as chairman of the Appropriations Committee, overseeing the committee that shapes Pennsylvania's annual budget. Prior to that, he served in leadership as caucus chairman.
Rep. Argall earned a bachelor's degree in political science and international studies from Lycoming College and a master's degree in American studies at Penn State's Harrisburg campus. In May 2006, he earned his Ph.D. in public administration from Penn State. Argall currently serves as a part-time instructor at Penn State's Schuylkill campus.
