Each week GOPAC highlights one of our targeted races in the 2007 elections. This weeks Candidate in the spotlight is Kentucky’s Secretary of State Trey Grayson. Trey is a rising star in Kentucky and we at GOPAC are proud to support him.
Trey Grayson, a fifth-generation Kentuckian, was raised in Northern Kentucky. Trey learned early on that if you worked hard and played by the rules, you could make a lasting impact on your community - a lesson he has carried with him ever since.
A proud product of Kentucky public schools and a Governor's Scholar, Trey played basketball and tennis, participated in academic competitions, and became a leader among his peers.
Trey graduated with honors from both Harvard College and the University of Kentucky. After graduate school, Trey returned to Northern Kentucky, where he dedicated his career to helping families and businesses.
After he returned to Northern Kentucky, Trey continued his commitment to serving his community and state. He was a founding member of Legacy, an organization that engaged young professionals in impacting the community. Trey served on the board of the New Hope Center, a crisis pregnancy center that encourages pro-life decisions.
He also served on the boards of the Kentucky Advocates for Higher Education, Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program, and Commonwealth Fund for Kentucky Educational Television - all with the hope of improving his community and Kentucky.
Trey took his commitment to serving the Commonwealth into politics when he ran for Secretary of State in 2003.
