Iowa Rep. John Landon named an ‘emerging leader’ by national GOP group

A freshman lawmaker in the Iowa House was named an “emerging leader” by a national Republican campaign group on Monday.

State Rep. John Landon, of Ankeny, received the designation from GOPAC, the Washington, D.C., based group that works to elect Republicans. As an “emerging leader,” Landon will take part in a year-long coaching and development program and attend a summit in New York in June. …

Accompanying Landon to New York will be fellow state Rep. Walt Rogers, R-Cedar Falls, a former emerging leader who’s now an honorary co-chair for the summit.
