FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arlington, Va — Today, GOPAC announced its endorsement of West Virginia Senate President Bill Cole in his candidacy for Governor.
“GOPAC is pleased to endorse Bill Cole for Governor. His focus on boosting small businesses, investing in education, reducing the rate of drug abuse and improving roads and infrastructure are the first steps to getting West Virginia moving forward,” said GOPAC Chairman David Avella.
Avella went on to share: “With Senator Cole serving on our Legislative Leaders Advisory Board, we have heard him advance conservative, common-sense ideas. Further, we have seen his governing style is getting everyone around the table, allowing each to voice his/her opinion and finding common ground to a challenge. Both skills will prove valuable assets in leading West Virginia.”
GOPAC’s endorsement includes receiving the maximum allowable contribution from the GOPAC Election Fund. In addition, GOPAC members will be encouraged to donate directly to Senator Cole’s gubernatorial campaign. The organization will also consider bolstering him through independent expenditures that will promote his biography and ideas for addressing the challenges facing West Virginia.
Senator Cole is the owner of Cole Automotive Group. His biography states that by the age of 13, he was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He is an ATP-rated (airline transport) pilot with 38 years and more than 4,000 total hours of flying experience. Senator Cole’s ratings also include jet, helicopter, and seaplane. He serves on the board of directors of the Development Authority of the Greater Bluefield Area and the W. Paul Cole Jr. School of Business at Bluefield State College. In 2013, The State Journal named him as a Who’s Who in West Virginia Business.
