GOPAC endorses Arizona House Speaker David Gowan and Indiana State Senator Erin Houchin in their bids for the U.S. House.
Arlington, VA (February 29, 2016) – GOPAC today announced the launch of its 2016 Conservative Congress Project with the endorsement of two candidates for U.S. House of Representatives:
Arizona House Speaker David Gowan for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District
Indiana State Senator Erin Houchin for Indiana’s 9th Congressional District
The Conservative Congress Project assists GOPAC-affiliated state legislators running for higher office in their Primary and General Elections. Arizona House Speaker Gowan previously served as a member of GOPAC’s Legislative Leaders Advisory Board, and State Senator Erin Houchin is a member of GOPAC’s 2015 Emerging Leaders class.
The project has a proven history of supporting strong, conservative state legislators for Congress. In 2014, the project supported the successful campaigns of Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA 10th District), Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO), Sen. Shelly Moore Capito (R-WV), and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC).
As part of the Conservative Congress Project, the GOPAC Election Fund will provide the maximum allowable federal contribution and encourage GOPAC members and supporters to donate directly to each endorsed candidate. The candidates are also eligible for GOPAC Election Fund independent expenditures.
“GOPAC works diligently to support and foster the talents of conservative leaders and to build a deep bench of proven, tested candidates at both the state and federal level. Speaker Gowan and Sen. Houchin have demonstrated their knowledge, experience, and integrity to their constituents at the state level. We know they will advance their conservative principles in Washington,” said GOPAC Chairman David Avella.
