Position Scope and Responsibilities

The Digital Media & Political Manager is a mid-level position reporting directly to the Executive Director. Pleasant manner required as job involves frequent contact with federal and state lawmakers and their staff, and other highly placed officials, as well as media, and donors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Update and maintain organization’s websites including custom coding of existing websites
  • Implement internet marketing campaigns for online advertising and ensure optimal program performance by monitoring marketing placements, metrics
  • Build landing pages for email and advertising campaigns
  • Develop and oversee GOPAC’s strategy with respect to social media networks
  • Produce and distribute regular updates to key constituencies
  • Stay informed of latest development in online activism to ensure program is cutting edge
  • Coordinate responses to all website inquiries, answering emails when appropriate or getting them to appropriate GOPAC team member
  • Develop database to optimize contact with supporters, partners and interested constituencies
  • Development of audio and video projects including recording, editing and production
  • Produce public education and political campaign materials
  • Conduct research and track federal, statewide and state legislative elections nationwide
  • Prioritize and communicate key information from tracking and conversations with state partners to staff through regular reports
  • Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with key federal and state leaders, and with other political committees, individuals, and organizations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of federal and state political programs
  • Assist in executing national summits and conferences
  • Develop presentations for seminars and briefings
  • Manage the political database of key constituencies
  • Work collaboratively with finance team to produce political materials needed for the fundraising program
  • Organize special projects as directed

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and work as a member of a team
  • Capacity to understand complex and unfamiliar subjects
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends
  • PC proficiency (MS Office) is required
  • Knowledge of WordPress, and various social media platforms
  • Graphic design skills a plus
  • Experience drafting and publishing op-eds a plus

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based at GOPAC’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia
  • Travel required for meetings and events
  • Work hours are more than a standard work week and includes periodic evenings and weekends

Bachelor’s degree required


Salary – $65,000 – $70,000
